The Storm Fizzles Out

By David Forte The Bruins vs Hurricanes series is as good as over. The lopsided 6-2 win on Mother’s Day was the kill shot. The Bruins still need to win 2 more games but if the series lasts more than 5 games I’ll be shocked. They have not only won the first 2 games of the series, they took the Hurricanes confidence away on Sunday. The Hurricanes goalie, Mrazek, is lost. I would be shocked if we see him between the pipes game 3. Some of the goals he got a piece of but they still wound up in the … Continue reading The Storm Fizzles Out

Bruins Eastern Conference Finals Game 1 Preview

By David Forte Tonight the Boston Bruins open up the Eastern Conference Finals against the Carolina Hurricanes. This is going to be a tough matchup for them because both teams play a very similar game. The Bruins have played in 2 tough series back to back while the Hurricanes have swept theirs and have been sitting around waiting. The biggest issue in game one for the Bruins is who fills the whole on defense with McAvoy being suspended for an illegal check to the head. He averaged about 21 minutes on ice during the regular season. He has stepped it … Continue reading Bruins Eastern Conference Finals Game 1 Preview

Bruins Advance To Eastern Conference Finals

By David Forte Bruins successfully closed out the series in Ohio last night in impressive fashion. They won last night with a 3-0 win over the Blue Jackets. The win sends the Bruins into the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2013, where the Carolina Hurricanes and old friend Dougie Hamilton are ready. The Hurricanes are a very physical team and have some skilled players. They will look to crack the wall in net Rask. The Maple Leafs and Blue Jackets have tried and fail. Even though John Tortorella said the Blue Jackets “dented” Rask he never broke. … Continue reading Bruins Advance To Eastern Conference Finals

Brad Stevens Out Coached

By John Turner The Celtics find themselves down 3-1 against the 1 seeded Milwaukee Bucks and potential league MVP in Giannis. Ultimately, what is to blame for this meltdown? Lack of a real big man to help a team that can not rebound? Lack of timely shooting? Insanely terrible play by the bench? Referees? No. (I never thought I would ever say this)but, Brad Stevens 100% has been out coached by Mike Budenholzer, in every facet of the game. Giannis obviously is going to put up numbers, he is borderline unstoppable, but Stevens has done nothing to try and throw … Continue reading Brad Stevens Out Coached

Celtics Game 3 recap

Game 3 was a mess. The Celtics, started hot hitting their shots and playing good team defense. They went into the half up by 1. Then came out for the third same way. Then the referees started calling fouls if Boston looked at Giannis the wrong way. Plus lack of timely shooting. Giannis had 32 points in the game with 16 of them coming off free throws. He attempted 22 free throws. He spent so much time at the free throw line he should be paying property taxes. There was one instance when Irving was covering him he put his … Continue reading Celtics Game 3 recap

Bruins in Columbus Tonight

By David Forte The keys for a Bruins win tonight are to match the Blue Jackets physical play, put pucks on net, and take care of the puck. The Bruins are a physical team so matching the physical play of the Blue Jackets shouldn’t be much of an issue. Through the first 2 games of the series, Columbus have lead on the box score in hits. In game 1, the Bruins tallied 31 hits to the Blue Jackets 40. While in game 2, the Bruins totaled 41 hits to Columbus’ 49. That being said, the scorecard isn’t the one taking … Continue reading Bruins in Columbus Tonight
